Happy Friday, Acadia!
We need you to help lead us into the future as a member of the SUB Renewal Committee! The Students’ Representative Council of the Acadia Students’ Union has created the SUB Renewal Committee to create a comprehensive, student-driven plan to determine the future of the Acadia Students’ Centre (New SUB and Old SUB). This committee will engage with students, staff, faculty and community members to investigate the current status of the SUB and to create a guiding vision on the redevelopment of the SUB based on input from our students.
The committee is structured so as to allow as much student input as possible and today, I am pleased to open the application period for four (4) positions on the committee. Two of these positions are for a one-year term (May 1st, 2018 to April 30th, 2019) and two of these positions are indefinite appointments, meaning that these individuals will continue to serve on the committee until the committee finishes its work.
How to Apply
Applying is really easy. All that we require is a cover letter and resume. Your cover letter should detail why you want to sit on the SUB Renewal Committee, what you think you can offer the committee in terms of your skills and/or experience, and what you believe the vision should be for the Students’ Union Building into the future (key values, strategic objectives and goals, spirit, etc.), Please also make sure to indicate whether you are applying to serve indefinitely or for a one-year term.
Interested candidates are invited to submit their application package (cover letter and resume) by Friday, March 30th, 2018 at 4:00 PM with attention to Oliver Jacob, Chairperson. The submissions can be made through any of the following methods;
In Person: Union Market in the Students’ Union Building (SUB)
Mail: Acadia Students’ Union
ASU Box No. 6002
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me anytime by email at email@example.com or stop by my office (Old SUB 628) during my weekly office hours.
