HOMETOWN: Halifax, Nova Scotia
YEAR OF STUDY: 4th
PROGRAM OF STUDY: Double Majoring in History and French
WHAT I DO: I take care of social media for the union to communicate events such as Frosh/Frost Week, Hoco and Cheaton. I take pictures at ASU events and I capture student life to post online. I also send out the all student emails that keep students informed on up to date information every Monday.
Aside from the social media aspects of my job, I also work with clubs and club ratification with the Communications and Promotions committee which I lead. I also work closely with the Town of Wolfville to improve student relations within the town. Finally, I work with Off-Campus Student relations to ensure all students receive equal communication and understanding of information and events.
MY GOALS FOR THE YEAR: For the 50th anniversary of the ASU I really want to remind students who we are, what we represent and how far we’ve come as a community of academics. By the end of the year I hope that with the help of the ASU Executive team and the Students’ Representative Council we are able to ignite the spirit of all students and make a genuine imprint of the everyday lives of the Acadia student body.
I am also hoping to better the understanding of Off-Campus students on Town of Wolfville relations so that information can be passed along effectively. In the past I’ve seen a student intolerance to Town relations and a misunderstanding that Wolfville is out to get students and chase them out. I can promise you that is not the case and I am really excited to begin clearing up miscommunications between everyone. (Why can’t we be friends, why can’t we be friends….)
FUN FACT ABOUT ME: I make amazing gyoza (Japanese dumplings), like seriously invite me to your potluck and I will prove it.
All Student Emails go out on Mondays, please send additions by Friday at noon to firstname.lastname@example.org. The ASU reserves the right to deny a request for promotion on any platform.
