Accessibility Advisory Committee

Happy International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Acadia!
The Acadia Students’ Union recognizes that today is a day to celebrate the contributions that people with disabilities make here at Acadia University and across our local communities. We are pleased to support students with disabilities and to advocate for their needs both on- and off-campus!
On behalf of the Students’ Representative Council of the Acadia Students’ Union, I am happy to announce that the Acadia Students’ Union has created an Accessibility Advisory Committee to guide the Union on its path forward and to advise Council on opportunities to increase accessibility within the Union.
The mandate of the committee is to promote and facilitate a barrier-free Union, by advising Council and assisting in the removal and prevention of barriers faced by persons with disabilities within the Acadia Students’ Union. For more information on the Accessibility Advisory Committee, visit the ASU website here.
We are excited to open up the application period for up to four (4) seats on the Accessibility Advisory Committee for the remainder of the 2017/2018 academic year. Any student can apply to sit on this committee and all that is required to be considered is an email to explaining why you would like to sit on this committee and what skills and/or experience you would offer to the committee’s work. The deadline to apply is Sunday, December 31st, 2017 at 11:59 PM.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me anytime by email at or stop by my office (Old SUB 628) during my weekly office hours
