Applications Still Open for Deputy Chairperson

Hey Acadia;

Just wanted to send a quick email to remind you that applications for the position of Deputy Chairperson are open until 4:00 PM on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017. All you need to do is send a cover letter and resume, explaining what skills and/or experience you have and why you would like to hold the position, to me at asu.chairperson@acadiau.ca or drop it off at the Union Market (on the main floor of the Students’ Union Building). *The Original Job Posting Email, with more information on the qualifications, is attached below.

As a former Deputy Chairperson, I can attest to that fact that being Deputy Chairperson is not simply a job. It’s way more of an experience where you get to work with amazing student leaders to make student life better for our student body. For me, the best part of working with the ASU is definitely the people. Of course, the groups vary from year to year but the one thing that brings them together is a desire to enhance the Acadia experience for each and every Acadia student. It’s also an amazing opportunity to get involved with students in different years and programs of study and to learn more about yourself and your leadership potential. I joined Council as Deputy Chairperson two months into my first year at Acadia and I could not have made a better choice. 😊

Here’s what Soleil Chahine, our 2015/2016 Deputy Chairperson, had to say:

“The Deputy Chairperson is a great way to get introduced to the Students’ Representative Council and get involved with the governance of the ASU. The position allows you to work on your communication and organization skills in a collaborative environment.”

Any questions or concerns about the position? Shoot me an email or stop by my office (Old SUB 628) and I will be happy to speak with you.

Thanks!
OJ
